This position is responsible for customer service, responding to customer issues/complaints and working to resolve in a timely manner; invoicing customers monthly for water usage, receiving customer payments for water and collecting past due accounts including setting up payment plans.

- Provide excellent customer service to YSPUC water users by answering phones and responding to customers at the window in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide courteous and professional customer support, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints timely, including handling difficult situations with patience and diplomacy. Record all complaints in the Company’s Complaint Log.
- Provide for timely, accurate invoicing of water users at end of each month including downloading meter reads from handheld and reviewing thoroughly; advise meter readers of any issues that need to be resolved prior to invoicing. Generate customer water invoices in system, review for accuracy or reasonableness prior to mailing. Accounts Payable Specialist assists with this duty.
- Complete end-of month closing duties, ensuring accurate account reconciliation and smooth transition to the next billing cycle.
- Accurately and timely post payments to customer accounts; prepare payments for deposit to bank account.
- Identify delinquent payments and generate collection notices and shutoff warnings. Work with delinquent homeowners to pay in full or set up payment plan and then monitor payments. Provide operations with shutoff notices for non-payment.
- Create work orders for road and water crews as needed and monitor for completion. File white copies of work orders when job is completed.
- Respond to and process all water demands for opening and closing accounts.
- Daily check USA website for any YSPUC USA’s needed. Write work orders after crew determines no conflict exists. File work order after completion.
- Consistent, dependable attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
- Qualifications:
- AS degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Proficient with Quick Books
- Minimum 3 years Payroll experience.
- Minimum 4 years administrative and office management experience.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office- Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to write letters, reports, memos using good grammar and punctuation.

- Physical Requirements:
- This position is performed in an office and is mostly sedentary. The individual must be able to speak and hear clearly and to communicate effectively by phone, in person, and via emails. Must be able to use a computer to conduct research, generate work orders and reports; use lab equipment to conduct water samples and be able to accurately read meters to conduct calibration and testing; read and understand numbers. Some lifting, bending, stooping, stretching and reaching as needed to move supplies, file and conduct tests.
Compensation: $22 – $23 per hour
